Company
Background
August, 1991: Our organization was
incorporated in the State of New Hampshire as Umen Electronics
Ltd., d/b/a American Computer Expeditors (ACE), focusing initially
on exporting computer hardware. ACE has, over the past 12
years, developed strong trading partners across North America,
Africa, Europe, and Australia.
Early
1990’s: ACE was an active trader in new IBM
PS2 systems and options. ACE was also active in trading “Options
By IBM”, IBM’s foray into the clone options marketplace.
Middle
1990’s: ACE moves from the highly competitive
IBM marketplace to the fledgling Compaq marketplace. ACE also
initiates programs with the largest US distributors, such
as Businessland, Computerland and JWP, to liquidate excess
inventories and close down their obsolete distribution facilities.
1997:
Due to the large volume of exports to Europe, ACE enters into
an agreement with the ACAL PLC group, based out of London,
England. This venture gives ACE a $125 million balance sheet
to work with facilitating domestic business arrangements with
Compaq and IBM.
1998:
ACE creates Service Center America (SCA) to repair and remarket
Compaq field service’s defective and obsolete inventories.
1999:
ACAL restructures it’s US operations and Christopher Frasier
re-purchases 100% of all shares in ACE. ACE enters into agreements
with Compaq to consign lease returns and system redeployment
from it’s Exeter, NH facility.
